1. Customs Declaration Forms
All travelers entering the Cayman Islands are required to complete a customs declaration only if they have items to declare or exceed duty-free limits. If you have nothing to declare and are within your duty-free allowances, you are generally not required to fill out the form.
2. General Rules and Procedures
All goods being brought into the country must be declared, including:
Gifts
Souvenirs
Duty-free purchases
Duty-free allowances vary slightly depending on residency status and duration of stay.
Prohibited and restricted items (e.g. firearms, controlled drugs, endangered species) must not be brought in.
All travelers are subject to inspection, including baggage search by Customs officers.
3. Green and Red Channel
Upon arrival:
Green Channel: For travelers with nothing to declare and within duty-free limits.
Red Channel: For travelers declaring items, including those exceeding personal allowances or carrying restricted goods.
You must proceed to the red channel if:

You are carrying goods over your duty-free limit.
You are carrying prohibited/restricted items, or commercial merchandise.
4. Duty-Free Allowances
Cayman Islands Citizens / Residents
200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 1 lb tobacco
1 liter of spirits or 2 liters of wine
60 mL of perfume or 240 mL of toilet water
Goods valued up to CI$300
Other Travelers (Non-residents)
200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 1 lb tobacco
1 liter of spirits or 2 liters of wine
60 mL of perfume or 240 mL of toilet water
Goods valued up to CI$200
📝 Note: Exceeding these limits will result in duty being charged on the full value of that item type, not just the excess portion.
5. Prohibited & Restricted Items
The following items are prohibited or restricted from import into the Cayman Islands:
Dangerous or Hazardous Goods:
Flammable liquids and solids (e.g., lighter fluid, thinners)
Oxidizers (e.g., bleaching powder)
Organic peroxides
Tear gas, gas cylinders
Fireworks, non-safety matches, fire lighters
Toxic, Infectious, or Radioactive Materials:
Arsenic, cyanide, weed killers, poisons
Infectious agents or virus materials
Radioactive materials
Acids, alkalis, corrosives
Other Restricted Items:
Wet-cell car batteries
Instruments containing mercury or magnets
Creosote, quicklime, oiled paper
Parts of fuel systems that have held fuel
Certain lithium batteries (especially unprotected loose cells)

6. Currency Declaration
If you are entering or leaving the Cayman Islands with more than CI$10,000 (or its equivalent in any foreign currency), you must declare it to Customs.
